Week of 12th June - 20th June 2004
- Confessions - Saturday
11:15 - 12 noon. Also after 7pm Mass and of course on request.
- Novena to Our Lady of Perpetual
Succour - Wednesday at 7:30 pm. I do encourage you all to come and
honour Our Lady - our most Blessed Mother.
- The Sanctuary Lamp will burn this week in memory of Desmond
Torpey. To avoid disappointment, please place requests for masses and the
Sanctuary Lamp as soon as possible.
- First Holy Communion Next Saturday at 10am our children will receive their First Holy
Communion. Please pray for them and their parents that they will keep up the
practice of the faith.
- Nienhagen Choir We welcome the choir to our parish this weekend as
part of their visit to Garswood. The Concert on Friday was a great success
- truly wunderbar! - and we thank them and the Trinity Girls Silver Band for
a memorable musical evening.
- Flower Arrangers - Wednesday 1.30pm in the Parish Centre
- Wanted! your old spectacles, with or without a case, for people
in the Third World. There's a box at the back for them.
- Parish Centre will open on Saturday 12 June to the parish and
local community. We look forward to you all having many enjoyable
celebrations in the centre in the future. Jeanette Ellis is our new Centre
Manager. We hope that both parts of the parish, Bryn and Garswood, will use
it for all family celebrations.
- Centenary Celebrations Sadly, only a few people turned up to make preparations.
It was decided to have:
- Parish Ramble + BBQ in the garden on 11 July. Please sign up at the back of church.
- Parish Treasure Hunt.
- Parish Social. Details to follow - watch this space.
- Car Wash for the Lourdes Fund : Sat/Sun 26/27 June.
- Lourdes Prize Bingo Prizes welcome. Please leave at the Presbytery.
- Retired Priests Fund The Archbishop, in tune with all the other
bishops of England and Wales, has decided to introduce an annual collection
to help support our retired priests. The collection will be next weekend at
all masses after a special appeal; please be generous.
- Mass for the Ordination of Deacons - Sunday 13 June at 3.00pm in the Cathedral
- Public Pilgrimage - to the shrine of Blessed Dominic Barberi at
the Church of St Anne and Bl. Dominic, Sutton, St Helens on Saturday 17 July
at 2.00pm.
- Mass and Rosary Rally - at Sutton Monastery, St Helens on Saturday
19th June at 2.20pm.
- Nugent Care Annual Mass with Retired and Older People - 2.00pm Thursday 17
June at the Cathedral
- "Celebrate The Child" - Children's Mass on Sunday 27 June at
2.00pm at Southport Floral Hall. Please speak to Fr Reynolds if you are
interested.
