Second Sunday in Ordinary Time
- TODAY is Peace Sunday - Service for peace today: 4pm - 5pm
- Novena to Our Lady of Perpetual
Succour at 7:30pm on Wednesday. Once again I ask you to make an effort
to come to our Novena devotion to honour our most Blessed Lady. Our Mother.
- The Sanctuary Lamp will burn this week in memory of William and
Mary Aspey.
- Ecumenical Service for the week of Christian Unity at the Independent
Methodists, Victoria Road, on the 19th January. Please make an effort to come
and pray for the unity of Christendom.
- Centenary Celebration Meeting in the Smith Room on Monday 26th January
at 7:30pm.

- WANTED - I am looking for two parishioners willing to represent
the parish at a meeting at St Jude's, Poolstock Lane on Thursday 29th January
between 7:30pm - 8:30pm. It is an information meeting about the "Listening
2004: My Family, My Church" Initiative. Please see Father Reynolds if you
are able to go.
- Confessions - Saturday 11:15am - 12 noon or after 7pm Mass at
request.
- BEWARE!! - BOGUS COLLECTORS! A WORD OF WARNING!! Unknown and
unauthorised people have been collecting in Ashton in the name of St Oswalds.
If you meet any such people in Bryn or Garswood then call the police and myself.
- Beginning Experience Weekend Loyolla Hall, Prescott 5 - 7 March.
A spiritually based weekend for those who have experienced loneliness,
rejection, hurt and pain through the loss of a loved one by separation,

- Justice and Peace Annual Memorial Lecture - 'Peace and
Reconciliation' Speaker : Steve Alston at the LACE Centre, Croxteth Drive,
Sefton Park on Peace Sunday 18 January 2pm to 5pm. Refreshments served from
1.30pm.
- Welcome The World Youth Cross - Sunday 25 January, 6-7pm at Christ
the King Church, Queens Drive. The cross is on a continuous pilgrimage
throughout the world and visits Liverpool for just one night.
