Week of 17th July - 25th July 2004
First Holy Communion
Unfortunately Lauren Garner was ill when the rest of her school friends made
their First Holy Communion so she made her First Holy Communion last Sunday.
Some of her friends celebrated with her. We offer our congratulations,
prayers and best wishes to Lauren and her family.
- Confessions - Saturday
11:15 - 12 noon. Also after 7pm Mass and of course on request.
- Novena to Our Lady of Perpetual
Succour - Wednesday at 7:30 pm. I do encourage you all to come and
honour Our Lady - our most Blessed Mother.
- The Sanctuary Lamp will burn this week for the Holy Souls.
- Centenary Celbrations - Parish Ramble A Wonderful Afternoon !!
In spite of the dark, threatening clouds we set off in good heart and the
Lord smiled on us - no rain! The Seventeen Stalwart Souls who took part
really enjoyed the walk as you can see in the pictures on the display board.
Hopefully, there will be more walks in the future and I urge you to
'come and join us.'
- Centenary Celbrations - Parish Social Friday 23 July 7.30pm -
11.30pm in the Parish Centre. Tickets : £5 incl. buffet.
- Parish Lottery: Many thanks to all who joined in the June draw.
We are aiming for great things - why not join and win a fortune? Entry
forms at the back of church.
- Walsingham Pilgrimage - Final payments are now due to Pam Hughes
or Fr Reynolds: Sue Ryder Hospice £106, Pilgrims Hospice £83.
- Youth
2000 Prayer Festival 2004 26 - 30 August in Walsingham. Join 1000's
of other young catholics living their faith and having fun. Sponsorship
available. See Fr Reynolds.
- Days of Recollection at the Don Orione House of Prayer, Upholland
on Sunday 5 September and Saturday 25 September. These days are for all,
especially Eucharistic Ministers and Readers and others in the parish.
Spend a quiet day in peace to renew your inner self among the rolling fields
of Lancashire. 10am - 5pm. £5. Please bring a packed lunch. Sign up at
the back of church.
- Praise in the Park A Songs of Praise in Jubilee Park, Ashton on
Sunday 18 July at 2.30pm organised by Aston Churches Together. Please do
make an effort to support.
- Loyola Hall Spirituality Centre Rainhill. Growth in Faith and
Life; weekends of faith development residential or not. August 20 - 22 or
October 22 - 24 See Fr Reynolds if you are interested.
- Places to Visit Stoneyhurst College, Clitheroe is open to the
pubic until the end of August from 1pm to 5pm daily except Fridays. £5 for
House and Gardens, £1 for gardens only.
- Flower Arrangers Parish Centre Wednesday 1.30pm. Betty is
getting the flowers.
