Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time
- Confessions - Saturday
11:15am - 12 noon or after 7pm Mass at request.
- Novena to Our Lady of Perpetual
Succour at 7:30pm on Wednesday. Once again I ask you to make an effort
to come to our Novena devotion to honour our most Blessed Lady. Our Mother.
- The Sanctuary Lamp will burn this week in memory of William O'Brian
and Thomas Fagan. First available date is 14th March. Please make your requests
as soon as possible.
- Centenary Celebration Meeting Many thanks to all who came to the
meeting and have undertaken to organise events. Permission and approval by
both the Diocese and Wigan M.B.C. has been gained for the refurbishment
internally and externally of the Parish Centre. Tenders have been received
for the work and we hope it will begin soon.
- Week of Guided Prayer - A team of Prayer guide Leaders from
Loyola Hall, the Jesuit House of Spirituality in Rainhill, will begin a week
of guided prayer 7 - 13 March. Many took part in the last week held two
years ago and found it very helpful to their own spiritual life. Please
take a leaflet and sign up.
- Walsingham 2004 - Bookings are now being taken - contact Pam
Hughes. Due to increases in the cost of both the transport and
accommodation, there is an overall increase in the cost. However, we will
have better quality bus and accommodation. Booking forms are at the back of
church.
- Lourdes - Each year, a small number of teenagers from our Parish
volunteer to go to Lourdes as assistants to sick and disabled pilgrims and
it is traditional that parishioners of Our Lady's help with the costs
involved. (The remainder of the cost is earned by the volunteers
themselves.) Please support their unselfish endeavours by supporting the
Raffle which is being run on their behalf. Tickets £1 per slip. A list of
prizes to be won is pinned on the notice board. Thank you for your support.
- Tea Dancers Don't forget it's our Hot Pot Tea Dance on Tuesday 3
February at the I. M. Hall, Victoria Road. Cost £2. Can you be there for
1 o' clock, please.
- Listening Church Leaflets - please complete and return as soon as
possible.
- Hospital - If or when any relative is admitted to hospital,
please ensure that his/her religion is registered and that the visit of a
priest is required. We cannot always rely on the hospital staff to fulfil
the obligation to meet the spiritual needs of the patient.
- World Day of Prayer for the Sick - Mass in honour of Our Lady of
Lourdes at Christ the King, Childwall, Liverpool at 8pm on Wednesday 11
February. Notice in the porch for more details.
- Connecting with Jesus - an unmissable event for people accompanying
children with learning disabilities in Sacramental preparation or
Catechetics. Thingwell Hall, Saturday 6 March. Details in the porch.
