On Holy Saturday, the Church waits a the Lord’s tomb, meditating on His suffering and death.

In accordance with ancient tradition, this night is one of vigil for the Lord, a reminder that we are to have our lamps lit

so that, when He comes in glory, He will find us wide awake and ready to take our places at the Eternal Banquet.
